Stem cell research has saved many lives, and caused less death amongst the world around us. For example, "Pluripotent stem cells offer the possibility of a renewable source of replacement cells and tissues to treat a myriad of diseases, conditions, and disabilities" (Stem Cell Information, 2011). This shows that Pluripotent stem cells can replace cells and tissues to treat illnesses that have not been treated before. These types of cells are helpful to people that suffer from an illness and possibly give them a longer life. Another example is, “Adult stem cells can be harvested without a loss of life, and they are readily available from bone marrow, skin, fat, umbilical cord blood and other sources” (Life Issues Institute, 2011). This shows that adult stem cells do not kill as many lives because of where they are harvested from. They can be easily harvested from many sources in the body without a loss of life. However, when stem cells are harvested from someone there has been some deaths involved during the process, but it does not mean they should stop trying to help people that are in serious need of fighting for their lives.
