The first reason is that the stem cells are taken from aborted embryos, and not fully developed babies. For example, “In the event of an abortion at least some good for the whole of humanity can come of it. Research cannot be done on adult stem cells because they don’t the share the same aspects as those from an embryo. The good of the research outweighs the bad of the methods” (Embryonic Stem Cell Research, 2011). This shows that stem cells are taken from aborted embryos which is something humanity thinks to be is some good. In research, only embryo stem cells can be used because adult stem cells do not have the same aspects as the embryos do for scientists to work with. Another example is, “In the 1970s, the controversy focused on research involving fetuses in utero, aimed at developing techniques such as amniocentesis and improving the understanding of conditions such as congenital heart disease, as well as on research involving tissue from aborted fetuses of the type that led to the polio vaccine” (Guttmatcher, 2011). This says that researchers focused on developing simpler ways to understand certain diseases and they also researched tissue from aborted embryos which cause the polio vaccine. The research on aborted babies has become very useful in the world because it has led to vaccines for diseases. However, in some cases this can be seen as murder to people because of the process in taking their stem cells for a research experiment. Therefore, stem cells that are taken from aborted embryos to serve for the good of humanity
